Go for a colorful run

The ninth edition of the Color Run on June 10 at Centrální park is a five-kilometer run (or walk) for the entire family, where participants get covered in five colors at five different zones along the route. In addition to Prague, the run takes place in České Budějovice, Olomouc, Ústí nad Labem, and Pardubice, with a large accompanying program throughout the day. 

Explore a museum or glasswork exhibition

Between June 9 and Sept. 3, the Glass Underground exhibition is at the Vyšehrad casemates, showcasing glassmaker Jiří Pačinek's delicate glass artworks which stand out against the robust architecture of the surroundings. Museum Night at the National Agricultural Museum on June 10 lets visitors explore the entire museum, including the roof terrace with the Living Garden of Views exhibit, join guided tours, participate in workshops, and enjoy a concert.

Catch the premiere of a Mozart opera

The Marriage of Figaro premieres on June 9 and 11 with a new staging at the Estates Theatre. Prague aficionado Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s famed opera played on that same stage in 1786, even before Don Giovanni. This new production is the creation of two distinguished female artists, the English conductor Julia Jones and the Czech stage director Barbora Horáková Joly. 

Go to a comedy festival and party

Big Night Out Comedy Festival LIVE brings world-class comedians for one night only on June 10 to Gauč na Výstavišti. In addition to stand-up performances from Australian comedian and singer Elena Gabrielle and Irish comedian Danny O’Brian, and audience games, the evening also includes an after-party with music from DJ Roxtar. 

Watch the final of the U-19 football competition

Celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Eden Stadium on June 10 by attending the final of the top international U19 friendly football tournament Al Abtal, which will feature the youth teams of Real Madrid and Valencia at Fortuna Arena. The ambassador of the game is Czech football legend Pavel Nedvěd, who will present the cup and medals to the winners. The event also features music performances and food. 

Explore new cultures and international cuisines

The Food & Culture Embassy Festival on June 10 at Vítězné náměstí is the largest international street food festival in Prague. Embassies and consulates showcase their countries' dishes to a soundtrack of artists from different countries. Between June 8 and 10, the Prague Meets Vienna festival at Mariánské náměstí and other places in Prague is a chance for visitors to discover the Viennese culture and the contemporary art scene, including through film screenings.

Listen to a superhero concert or independent Czech music

Plunge into the world of superheroes at the Film Philharmonic Superheroes concert in Prague's Rudolfinum on June 11, featuring iconic themes from popular films such as Superman, Batman, The Incredibles, Avengers, or Hellboy. Also on June 11, you can listen to mainstays of the Czech independent scene such as the bands Please The Trees, Mariá Kieslowski, and The Same Fog in a concert at the Meet Factory. Proceeds go towards a fundraiser for Honza Kutík, a person born with Angelman syndrome.

Festival of creativity lets you touch and try exhibits

Maker Faire, a series of creativity festivals for creators, inventors, innovators, tinkerers, and DIY enthusiasts, is on June 10 and 11 at Výstaviště Praha, with an expected attendance of over 500 domestic makers and around 30,000 attendees. This year's focus includes education, start-ups, artificial intelligence, open hardware, and open source.

Go to a picnic or street food fest

The Apetit magazine's picnic at Grébovka in Prague's Havlíčkovy sady on June 10 brings treats from renowned restaurants and vendors, all served in the open air, plus cooking shows and a program for children. Also on June 10 at Villa Richter, taste fresh and light Pinot Grigio, sparkling and fruity Prosecco, and dark, strong red Primitivo from various producers at the Pinot Grigio|Prosecco Primitivo Fest. Indulge in the best of modern gastronomy at the Karlín Food Truck Festival on June 11, which brings to Karlín Market a variety of mouth-watering dishes, plus music performances and family-friendly activities. 

Immerse yourself in Prague's literary scene

As part of the Moving Center Literary Festival, legendary New York poet Bob Holman will be reading his work and screening short films at the Globe Bookstore and Cafe on June 8. On June 9, at Cafe Club Misenska, there will be another reading with Holman along with Prague-based poets Asgeir H Ingolfsson (Iceland), Tyko Say (American, founder of Prague-based collective Object Paradise), and Lucien Zell (American, and founder of Moving Center), followed by an open mic.
