Prague’s new public transport card, Lítačka, which translates to “revolving door,” started replacing Opencard last spring.

(If you still have Opencard, you can check its validity here.)

Like its predecessor, the Lítačka acts as both a transport pass and card for the Municipal Library of Prague.

It also provides discounted admission to a number of Prague attractions; a spokesperson recently said the Lítačka rewards programs will be continuously expanded beyond what the Opencard had to offer.

While many of those discounts feel a bit meager (10 percent off admission at the City of Prague Museum or a 5-percent discount at Prague Zoo, which the Lítačka people say will change as they broaden the scope of their cooperation), some of the perks are quite substantial.

Here are the best benefits of Lítačka ownership that you can take advantage of right now:

Annual Lítačka card holders will receive free entry to the entire race season at Conseq Park racecourse in Velká Chuchle, the Prague race track that welcomes socialites, gamblers, and racing fans for what is a truly old-fashioned experience. The season began last Sunday and runs through October with at least 16 race days and more than 120 individual races.

One of Prague’s most famous museums—and home to one of the world’s oldest Jewish cemeteries—the Jewish Museum can be visited for half off the full admission fee with your Lítačka card (the benefit can be used once a year). Currently on display: a new exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of Charter 77, the Labyrinth of Normalization.

This 16th-century palace boasts a breathtaking panoramic view of Prague, a collection of world-famous paintings by Brueghel, Canaletto, and others, and a smart café with a Renaissance courtyard and outdoor terrace. Your Lítačka-card gets you a 40 percent discount on all types of tickets (children up to the age of 7 are free).

We know, those cheesy sailors hanging around Kampa make no one want to take a boat ride, but we’ve done it and, honestly, the unique views of the castle, scenic starting point from an ancient quay along the Vltava, and replica 19th-century vessel, give this 45-minute tour guilty pleasure status. Lítačka card users set sail for half off.

Also not likely to be high on the list of must-visits for those put off by the costumed sailors beckoning tourists inside, the Charles Bridge Museum has a few things going for it, namely the largest and most detailed model of the Gothic bridge’s construction in the world, remnants of arches from the Judith Bridge which preceded that Charles, and impressive views of Prague’s left bank. The Lítačka entitles you to a half-off tour.

Other interesting sites with a 10-percent discount on admission include several Prague towers and historic villas and chateaux; for more details on discounts and qualifications, see the full list of Lítačka-related discounts in Prague.
