More and more shoppers are turning to thrift stores as a waste-free alternative to supporting the commercial fashion industry. Nowhere more so than in the Czech capital where a new generation of boutiques are appealing to eco-conscious customers with a talent for finding secondhand treasure.

These are a few notables among the newest crop of Prague secondhand and vintage shops where you’ll find sweaters, wool coats, denim, and even costumes just in time for the autumn/Halloween season:

A new space has opened for lovers of the vintage look in Vysočany. “Some like it vintage” specilazes in vintage fashion from the 1920-1990s. Here you can buy or rent vintage apparel and accessories; you’ll also find handmade products by local Czech designers. Anyone looking to make an afternoon of thrifting along Sokolovská should also check out the very worthy Naty Šaty, a wonderland of divine skirts, dresses, and handbags. Read more.

Homeless Praguee

Despite the naming issues, these Instagram favorites stock a lot of big-name vintage denim (including Levi’s and Guess) and racks upon racks of sweaters. Read more.
