🌿Start the month on a high

Good news for chronic pain sufferers. Starting April 1, general practitioners in the Czech Republic will be authorized to prescribe medical cannabis. Additionally, patients will be able to receive a three-month supply on a single prescription.

🐐Zoo visitors take note

If you're planning a trip to a Czech zoo take note: some petting areas are implementing strict measures to prevent foot-and-mouth disease, including bans on feeding and petting animals like sheep and goats. Zoos are urging visitors who have been to Slovakia or Hungary recently to avoid visiting. Read more here.

🇪🇺 European film across Czechia

The 32nd annual Days of European Film festival brings dozens of award-winning films, special showcases, and events to cities across Czechia from April 2. Screenings take place in Prague from April 2–8 at Světozor, Edison, and Přítomnost cinemas, in Brno at Kino Art from April 2–16, and in Ostrava at Minikino from April 12–16. 🐰 Easter markets open

The historic center of Prague, including Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square, will host traditional Easter markets from April 5 to 27, 2025, celebrating the spring holidays. Over in Prague 2, the markets at Náměstí Míru will take place from April 5 to April 21, open daily from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. Visitors can expect traditional Easter goods, seasonal pastries, and creative activities for children.
