For the first time, Prague is joining World Health Day with a free public awareness event on April 7 at the New Town Hall. The program runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lectures on cancer, mental health, thyroid issues, and physical pain, along with yoga sessions and health screenings just as eye sight testing. Registration is required for some parts. Experts aim to inspire healthier lifestyles through education and interactive activities.

Mexico Week in Prague, running April 4–10, celebrates the cultural ties between Mexico and the Czech Republic, home to over 1,500 Mexicans. Events include traditional dance, art, lectures, and a culinary tour of top Mexican eateries like Las Adelitas and Little Mexico. The festival honors long-standing diplomatic bonds dating back to President Cárdenas' support of Czechoslovakia and cultural icons like Olympic champion Věra Čáslavská. 🎨Take a peek at a new mural
A new mural titled Truth and Love Must Conquer Lies and Hatred is in progress at the Budějovická metro underpass in Prague 4, honoring former Czech President Václav Havel. Created by artist Original Seok and partner Phoe, the modernized portrait aims to promote Havel’s ideals and brighten public space. The mural replaces a 2012 artwork and features six Havel quotes. The city supports graffiti in legal zones to encourage street art culture.
📍 Watch out for transport disruptions
April sees several diversions and disruptions to the capital’s public transport. From April 5 to April 30, tram services will be suspended in the Vozovna Střešovice area due to reconstruction. Additionally, from April 12 to April 13, tram services will be disrupted between Vltavská and Dělnická. Bus routes will also be altered from April 6 to April 21 due to the construction of the Dvorecký Bridge on Nádražní Street.
🐰Plan a visit to the Easter markets
Easter markets are now open for the new season. The historic center of Prague, including Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square, will host traditional Easter markets from April 5 to 27, 2025, celebrating the spring holidays. Over in Prague 2, the markets at Náměstí Míru will take place from April 5 to April 21, open daily from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. Visitors can expect traditional Easter goods, seasonal pastries, and creative activities for children.
