Angel Tree 2009 Wrap-Up

A big thank you to everyone who participated in our annual holiday project. This year, Expats.cz partnered with Vienna International Hotels & Resorts to support three children´s homes in the Czech Republic; one in Prague, one in Zruč nad Sázavou and one in Nechanice. The gifts were delivered before the holidays, in time for each of the home´s Christmas parties. For the past three years, Expats.cz has chosen children´s charities to support during the holidays. Martin Howlings, managing director of Expats.cz says it´s a great opportunity for members of the community to give back in a confident way.

“We were pleased to offer the expat community a chance to help some wonderful children this holiday,” Howlings added. “The response was overwhelmingly, and we were so impressed by the generosity of everyone involved.”

More than 250 gifts were purchased; a combination of fun stuff and much needed clothing or shoes for the children. In addition, items to make the homes´ environment more warm and welcoming were requested and supplied. Things like towels, sheets, shampoo and art supplies will ease the burden on the homes and make the children´s lives a bit more comfortable.
