Art in the Sky at Hilton Prague

Hilton Prague is delighted to host a sculpture exhibition by the Italian artist Marco Di Piazza at its Cloud 9 Sky Bar & Lounge from 2 until 28 February 2011. Visitors can look forward to 11 iron and steel sculptures, the majority of which will be located at Cloud 9, while some of the larger masterpieces will be exhibited in the hotel´s public space.  Examples of some of the larger pieces on display are the nearly three meter tall “Persone in Strada” (People on the Road) in front of the hotel entrance, the “Movimento e Slancio” (Movement and Animation) at the Vltava river terrace and the four meter tall “Fiamma” (Flame), which will be exhibited in the hotel lobby.

Marco Di Piazza was born in 1961 and studied arts and architecture in Florence.  In 1989 he restored a medieval chapel in San Gimignano and opened a studio and a gallery there, where he creates and exhibits his pieces from stone, brass and terracotta.  Some of his monumental masterpieces are represented in public as well as private collections worldwide.  From 2003 he has been living with his family in Bonn, still returning to San Gimignano, to work on his sculptures.

To celebrate, Cloud 9´s award winning bartender Roman Uhlir has created a special cocktail collection inspired by individual sculptures from the exhibition, which will be offered at a promotional price of CZK 130 per cocktail.  The selection includes:
