Bageterie Boulevard, the Czech fast-food chain known for their filled baguettes and cones of mayo-topped frites has begun to introduce self-service kiosks ala McDonald’s at its Prague branches.

The first of these launched earlier this month at the Národní třída but the kiosks should eventually be installed in all Bageterie Boulevard branches, reports Czech Crunch.

“We have introduced this novelty along the lines of worlds refreshment chains and we believe that the new form of order will entertain our customers and speed up their clearance,“ says Jiří Štěpánek, operating director of Bageterie Boulevard.

As with McDonald’s, the Bageterie kiosks allow customers to order quickly and pay by card to avoid queues.

Bageterie Boulevard opened its first branch in 2003 in Dejvice and gradually expanded to most larger cities in the Czech Republic.

In addition, it has expanded into Bratislava, Dresden, Berlin, and Dubai, and is also preparing for markets in Austria, Hungary, Poland, and Russia. The Czech chain has also begun to open drive-through stores delivery of BB Boxes.
