The eighth edition of the cultural block party Betlémská kulturní noc will take place in and around Betlémské náměstí on September 10, with events from 3 pm to midnight.

Some 20 local
institutions have prepared a program both in the open air and
indoors. There will be several exhibition openings, live music, film
screenings, performances, culinary stops, walking tours, and a
children’s program. The primary language for the event is Czech.

The theme for the event is Truth, and one of the main parts is the opening of an exhibit called For the Truth (Za pravdu) at the lapidarium of the Galerie Jaroslava Fragnera and the Bethlehem Chapel. The exhibition has over 30 pieces inspired by the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution and 650 years since the birth of religious reformer Jan Hus.

Galerie Jaroslava Fragnera will have a second opening called Cloud 69, exploring 25 years of planning by architectural studio A69. This exhibition runs until October 28.

The same gallery

6 pm.

abstract-like photographs by Valentyn Odnoviun taken in prisons of
former oppressive regimes in Eastern Europe. “The series show how
images can become evidence of an event and create a paradoxical
perception. They call into question the relation between what we see
and what we perceive before the act of recognition,” the
gallery states. Music at
the opening is by DJ Filip.

Donuterie and Point
Gallery also have openings.
