One of the boldest Prague theatre venues NoD organizes a showcase Botana Mexicana that presents  a careful selection of music, dance and theatre performances, audiovisual art and gastronomic delicacies that represent the contemporary Mexican society and culture.

The festival Botana Mexicana is co-organized by the Exchange Committee CZ – MEX and its events will take place not only in NoD, but also in other Prague cultural spots from 2 to 24 June 2012. Teatro NoD will introduce three outstanding Mexican artists – Olga Gutiérrez, Alonso Alarcón and Zuadd Atala who will present their three outstanding projects balancing between ausiovisual performances and physical / dance theatre. All projects try to be testimonies of individual artists to the condition of contemporary Mexican society and the ruling system.

Olga Gutiérrez attempts to stop the anxiety for the future by observing  the pure present moment in her dance performance We  Are Here which will be the first performance of Botana Mexicana in NoD on 6 June.
Alonso Alarcón draws strength from his cultural heritage to face current individual issues in his live-music and dance performance Firefly Glass shown on 7 June.
On 8 June, Zuadd Atala rescues her identity from being buried under a heavy load of self- discrimination in her dance performance If I will only live once, I want to be blond.

Each night following the performance, NoD organizes a chill-out night with Mexican gastronomic delicacies and also some artistic video screenings that is going to take place in the adjacent Café NoD.
