Prague, March 12 (CTK) – All the passenger bus, train and ship transport to all neighbouring countries will be banned and air traffic will be reduced as of Saturday, the Czech Transport Ministry said after a government meeting today.
The measure is to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The ban is valid for all operators in the sphere of international road, railway and water transport. It will relate to the transport of passengers across the border.
When it comes to cargo transport, the current state remains valid. This means international transport is permitted. The return of Czechs from abroad and departure of foreigners will be still possible.
The transporting companies can only take vehicles and ships without passengers back to the Czech Republic.
Earlier today, the Czech Republic declared a state of emergency and closed all gyms, wellness and entertainment facilities, and limited the hours of operation of restaurants from 6:00 – 20:00.
