Bumble Bee „Young Economists“

Every year the children from Bumble Bee Preschool of age from 5 – 6 are graduated as „Young Economists“ after they successfully completed the two year program of Junior Achievement Academy. The Graduation takes place at CERGE – EI Institute and the children receive Certificates and their first business cards from the General Consul of American Embassy (currently Mr. David Beam) and the Director of Junior Achievement Organization Mr. Josef Müller. Bumble Bee is the only preschool in Czech Republic that teaches children Basics of Economy principles and cooperates with Junior Achievement Organization. The Junior Achievement is taught to children at Bumble Bee in a form of two year cycle including educational programs

. These programs are focused on gaining basic economic knowledge. The young students have the chance to learn about the role of individual and role of family in the society with a help of different games and art activities. They are introduced to meaning of notions like “selling,” buying, money exchange, “needs and wants” etc. These help them to understand the economy functioning of the family and the principles of personal economy. Both programs are taught in English language by volunteering parents. The programs are done in cooperation with the Junior Achievement Academy organization which has long term tradition in teaching economic principles to children.
