Czech playwright, dissident, and president Václav Havel would have turned 80 years old in 2016, and a series of events this autumn throughout the Czech Republic are celebrating the beloved icon.

Among the more unique events, the Czech Union of Caricaturists has prepared a special exhibition that will present caricatures of Havel created by a wide range of artists for the project “World Draws Havel.”

Earlier this year, the Union reached out to illustrators across the globe for their own takes on the Czech president. Hundreds of caricatures from illustrators in 30 countries across the world can be viewed on the Union’s official website.

And from tomorrow through the end of September, you can see some of the artwork in person at Prague’s Malostranská beseda. A special vernissage will open the exhibition tonight, September 6.
