As anticipation builds for the 22nd annual Colours of Ostrava, organizers have revealed the first set of artists coming to the music festival on July 16–19, 2025. Rock icon Iggy Pop and French electronic artists Justice will join Grammy-winning American duo The Chainsmokers on the festival’s iconic stages in Dolní Vítkovice next summer.

Additionally, Spanish pop sensation Alvaro Soler and popular Czech artists like Calin and Dan Bárta & Illustratosphere have been confirmed for next year's Colours of Ostrava as the festival emphasizes a commitment to a diverse lineup that spans genres and generations.

A special return for rock legend Iggy Pop

Returning to Ostrava for the first time in 15 years, Iggy Pop's appearance at the festival will be a highlight for many Czech fans. Known as the “Godfather of Punk,” Pop’s last appearance at Colours of Ostrava was memorable for an impromptu dance session with fans invited onto the stage.

Festival Artistic Director Zlata Holušová hints that Pop may surprise fans again. “Iggy has captivated audiences for almost 50 years, bringing relentless energy to both his studio work and live performances,” she says. Pop’s set is expected to feature hits from his extensive catalog, promising a dynamic experience for both new and long-time fans.

Justice joins The Chainsmokers

French duo Justice, renowned for their visually immersive performances, is once again set to make a splash in Ostrava. Returning to the Colours stage for the first time since 2017, the band is expected to present new tracks from their long-awaited album Hyperdrama. Known for pushing technical and audiovisual boundaries, Justice’s show will include elaborate light setups and a new visual aesthetic.

The Chainsmokers, whose announcement as headliners came at the close of the 2024 festival, have long been a fixture in global music charts with hit singles like Closer and Something Just Like This. Known for their energetic live performances and seamless integration of electronic, pop, and rock elements, The Chainsmokers have amassed millions of fans worldwide.

Their appearance in Ostrava aligns with the festival’s broader aim to attract a younger audience while maintaining appeal across age groups. Festival organizers are promoting a limited number of Fresh tickets at a discounted rate for festivalgoers aged 15–21, enhancing accessibility for younger audiences.

International and local stars join the lineup

Beyond Iggy Pop, The Chainsmokers, and Justice, Colours of Ostrava will feature a mix of international and local talents. Alvaro Soler, the German-Spanish pop singer known for Latin-inspired hits like Sofia and La cintura, will bring a vibrant, dance-worthy sound that will appeal to fans across Europe.

Closer to home, Czech rapper Calin will give his only regional performance of the summer at Colours of Ostrava. With a recent, nearly sold-out tour for his album Bieber Fever, Calin’s act is expected to draw a large crowd.

Similarly, Dan Bárta & Illustratosphere, a staple of the Czech music scene, will mark the 25th anniversary of their debut album with a special festival performance. Known for their innovative jazz stylings, the group promises to add a dynamic touch to the festival’s program.

A reimagined festival experience

For 2025, Colours of Ostrava is launching a new visual identity aimed at fostering inclusivity and multigenerational appeal. This revamp includes a fresh graphic look created by Studio Najbrt, which echoes the festival’s ethos of blending genres and bringing together audiences of all backgrounds.

The marketing team sees this as an opportunity to “respect the current DNA of the festival,” according to Colours’ Marketing Director Iva Fišerová. The redesigned visual identity emphasizes genre and generational diversity, making Colours a welcoming space for fans across age groups.

The 2025 lineup also includes expanded programming on the festival’s Fresh Stage, which will showcase up-and-coming acts alongside established names. Head of festival programming Filip Košťálek says the Fresh Stage will incorporate “even more electronic, rap, and global sounds, with a fresh technical setup to provide an immersive experience filled with lights, confetti, and memorable performances.”

In addition to the discounted Fresh tickets for guests aged 15-21 at CZK 2,490, regular four-day passes to Colours of Ostrava are currently available at CZK 3,990, with VIP tickets going for CZK 10,990. Organizers have also announced accommodation options in a variety of campsites for festivalgoers traveling to Ostrava.
