With burnout and work-related stress issues on the rise across many corporate sectors, executive physical exams are becoming increasingly popular as more and more businesses invest in comprehensive healthcare check-ups for their key talent and managers.

Concierge Medicine is one of the leading clinics in Prague offering Manager Check-Ups – a thorough full-body examination that far exceeds a typical cursory check-up.

A key focus of this six-hour examination is the early detection of a number of life-altering illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, and coronary heart diseases that can be treated with tailor-made lifestyle medicine when detected early.

"We emphasize the importance of preventive healthcare through regular checkups, screening, and early interventions that detect and address health problems before they become serious,” says Kateřina Vrbová, COO at Concierge Medicine Europe.

The Manager Check-Up is no exception. The marathon of medical check-ups follows the clinic’s philosophy when it comes to preventive healthcare measures. It is also governed by the simple motto: Don't waste time, as most people these days have little time to waste.

"Our clinic tailors health plans to the specific needs and goals of each patient. This individual approach allows us to focus on optimizing health and well-being, not just treating illnesses.”

Clients don’t have to worry about making multiple appointments at different medical offices across town. Concierge Medicine’s Manager Check-Up allows patients to get everything done in one place in just a few hours by a well-coordinated team of doctors.

“Lately, people in the Czech Republic are beginning to realize that health is in their hands, and the time they don't spend on prevention is donated to subsequent illness,” says Vrbová, who works closely with patients.

The Manager Check-Up starts early with extensive blood tests followed by an extended exam with a private physician, who will take a detailed personal and family history.

Patients can then expect a thorough exam of their entire body from their head to their toes, including an ultrasound of internal organs, a sleep apnea screening, a body composition measurement, ophthalmological and dermatological examinations, and a lifestyle consultation.

Clients will also undergo an extensive cardiology check, including an ultrasound of carotids and a stress test.

In order to keep up with the prevalence of cardiovascular disease spiking in young corporate executives, Concierge Medicine recently decided to take its cardiology examinations in the Manager Check-Up to the next level.

The clinic now offers spiroergometry, a physical performance diagnostic, which can better assess a patient’s VO2 Max, the maximum amount of oxygen your body can use during intense exercise. This upgrade allows for a more precise assessment of cardiorespiratory fitness, providing a patient with valuable insights about their heart, lung, and cardiovascular system.

Regular VO2 Max assessments provide clear feedback on the effectiveness of exercise efforts and can be integrated into broader health assessments, including heart rate, blood pressure, and body composition, giving you a clearer picture of your overall health and longevity.

Once all the exams are completed, patients will once again sit down with their GP, who, based on the results, will outline recommendations. The Manager Check-Up concludes with a session with a lifestyle coach, who will provide personalized advice for lifestyle changes that promote improved health and well-being.

The overall goal of the Manager Check-Up at Concierge Medicine is to provide comprehensive annual preventive examinations, while offering maximum time savings to busy people, which, these days, aren’t just managers. The clinic, with branches in Pankrác and Smíchov, has seen its client mix change in recent years, with more younger people and women joining its patient roster.
