When Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with Donald Trump in the White House earlier this month, a lot of speculation surrounded the gift the Czech dignitary would bring for the U.S. President.

Initially, that gift was reported to be a Czech-made pistol – a controversial choice given the country’s history of gun violence and ongoing debate over gun control.

The exact gift was identified by Babiš on social media after the meeting as a CZ 75 Republika, a special-edition handgun limited to 100 and engraved to honor the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia in 1918.

“US President Donald Trump received the exquisite CZ 75 Republika pistol as a gift from the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš,” czguns posted to Instagram earlier this week.

“The gun is one of only 100 produced by CZ to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovakian independence in 1918. The superbly crafted Republika features rich engraving and is adorned by 24-carat gold inlays and plating. The pistol’s serial number is CSR-1946 in honor of the President’s birth year.”

“We are proud that our product was chosen as a state gift of the Czech Republic to the US president.”

The CZ 75 Republika was produced by the manufacturer Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod (CZUB).

Released late last year at a retail price of 200,000 crowns, if you’d like to own one youself, you might be out of luck; the gun is no longer for sale at the CZUB website.

Babiš is the first Czech PM to visit the White House since 2011, when Petr Nečas met with then-President Barack Obama.
