Prague, Aug 9 (CTK) – Czech President Miloš Zeman is currently holidaying in the Vysocina Region in southwest Moravia. He enjoys his favorite rubber raft and has visited the spring of the Oslava River, spokesman Jiří Ovčáček has written on Twitter.

Ovčáček told CTK that Zeman will spend “a couple of days” in Vysocina.

Zeman had holidays throughout July already, which he spent at the presidential chateau in Lany, west of Prague. Only now he has left for Vysočina, where he co-owns real estate in the Nové Veselí village.

On Saturday, Ovčáček released photos of Zeman in his yellow-blue inflatable raft. Today, he added a photo from the trip to the Oslava River spring.

“Today, I visited the tourist point at the spring of the Oslava River. After its recent damaging by vandals, it has been wonderfully reconstructed by Nové Veselí Mayor Zdenek Krivanek and his colleagues. Thank you for a perfect job!” Zeman said, quoted by Ovčáček.

In the past, Zeman would regularly meet his friends at the spring and join tourist marches organised by the local branch of the Sokol (Falcon) sports organisation.

Zeman, 75, has holidayed in Nové Veselí annually, but in recent years he started to spend more leisure time at the Lany chateau, which is a countryside seat of Czech presidents. In the Lany village, he is building a house to move in after his second and last possible five-year presidential mandate expires in 2023.

Apart from Zeman, the Czech cabinet has been in recess until August 17. Nevertheless, some ministers are scheduled to discuss the 2021 draft budget with PM Andrej Babiš (ANO) next week.
