Recent years have seen a surge in summer domestic travel in the Czech Republic while improved infrastructure, increased connections, and restored overnight carriages are encouraging destination seekers to hop a train.

The recent news from Czech Railways that it will reinstitute its unlimited travel passes again for the summer 2017 season is yet another reason to ride the rails.

The company is offering a seven-day or two-week ticket option that allows passengers to ride for 690-790 CZK or 990-1190 CZK, respectively (student and senior discounts apply).

According to a ČD spokesperson, tickets went on sale June 15; they are valid for consecutive travel between July 1-August 30. Fares include unlimited mileage and rides on the ČD network of trains—passengers may get on and off anytime.

A couple caveats: Tickets are second-class and Czech Railways recommend making reservations, especially during busy times like the upcoming July bank holidays.
