From today, the Czech Republic has upgraded Sweden from high-risk red to low-risk green on its “traffic light” list of countries by COVID-19 risk.
Travelers coming from Sweden to the Czech Republic are now free to do so and will not have to present a negative coronavirus test, according to the Czech Health Ministry.
On the other hand, foreign workers from Sweden will have a new requirement to provide a negative COVID-19 test to enter the Czech Republic, as well as workers from Luxembourg.
Workers from Bulgaria, Romania, and Portugal also have this requirement, due to a perceived increased risk among incoming workers from these countries.
If the overall epidemiological situation keeps worsening in Romania, Bulgaria and Portugal, these countries could be removed from the Czech list of low-risk destinations, the Health Ministry has stated.
With the upgrade of Sweden, all EU countries are currently low-risk green according to the Czech list. Residents returning to the Czech Republic from these countries are now free to do so without restriction.
