Czech Republic among the world's top countries for attracting (and keeping) global talent

In terms of quality of working conditions and opportunities, the Czech Republic has been ranked the 25th best country in the world, according to the Adecco Personnel Agency’s 2019 Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI), which surveyed 125 countries and 114 cities.

The study focuses on the prerequisites of countries and cities to attract, educate, and retain new talents in the labor market, including formal and lifelong learning and access to employment opportunities.

This year’s GTCI report reveals that Switzerland, Singapore, and the United States continue to lead the world in talent competitiveness; the Czech Republic ranked 25th overall. It’s greatest strengths were retaining talent (22) and vocational and technical knowledge (22) while in the area of global knowledge skills, it lagged to number 32.

The GTCI also analyzed the world’s most attractive metropolises for global talent, finding that cities rather than countries are developing stronger roles as talent hubs and will be crucial to reshaping the global talent scene.

While Prague ranked 25th overall in the city rankings (Washington D.C. took the top slot), the Czech capital placed as the seventh-best city in the world for its ability to maintain a standard of living that is appealing enough to retain talented people in the labor market, outranking major cities such as Boston and Washington DC in the US or London in the UK.
