The Expat Insider Survey was released last Friday; the poll, which analyzes the best destinations across the globe for expats, breaks down the quality of life for foreigners living abroad in a number of categories.

The Czech Republic has once again come in third (following Austria at no. 2 and Finland at no. 1) in the Family Life Index in 2018, placing in the top 3 for the third year in a row.

While having a friendly attitude towards families with children is still one of the factors where the country underperforms, the vast majority of expat parents (91%) are generally happy with their decision to raise a family in the Czech Republic.

More than seven in ten expat parents (71%) believe that childcare options are numerous and easily available, and another 71% say the same about education. These scores are considerably higher than the respective global averages of 47% and 52%.

Affordability is another stand-out here — 68% of expats raising kids in the Czech Republic say that childcare is generally affordable, while 80% say the same about education; almost nine in ten parents (88%) rate the quality of education positively, and most of this education (60%) is provided by local state schools.

In the Family Well-Being subcategory the Czech Republic moved up four places from seventh to third. A surprising 100% of respondents say that their children’s general well-being is good, compared to 81% globally.

Overall, the Czech Republic ranked as the tenth best country for in the world for expats.
