Prague customers now have another way to shop online: through My Shop’s online store, one of Makro’s branded stores.

The e-shop will give customers the chance to order their goods online at a specific My Shop store and then pick it up and pay for it at that store, according to a report in Aktualne.

More than two dozen participating stores are offering online ordering in the test phase.

“With this project, we want to help our partners make their business more visible through a service that will make it easier for end customers to shop,” Makro Communications Manager Romana Nýdrle told Aktualne.

Right now, no online payment or delivery options are available. Customers will have to order online and pick up their products in the store. The company plans to introduce those options in the future.

Stores under the My Shop brand operate around 500 locations throughout the Czech Republic. The shops, run by local entrepreneurs, offer a variety of local products to consumers.

During the coronavirus pandemic in the Czech Republic, online sales and online stores have boomed. For example, Bolt Food started delivering food across Prague. Tesco expanded their online delivery options.
