Date for this year’s Prague Museum Night announced

This highly anticipated (free) night of gallery-going fun in Prague kicks off in early June.

Prague Museum Night, in which a number of museums across the Czech capital open their doors for free, is a highly anticipated annual event, also popular for its varied accompanied program that includes concerts and workshops.

The National Museum has announced the dates for the 16th annual outing of Prague Museum Night. The event will take place on Saturday, June 8. Forty-five museums, galleries, and other cultural institutions will participate. In total 70 locations will offer a program for the event.

National Technical Museum

Information tents will be set up on the day before and the day of the event. On Friday from 12 pm to 7pm one will be located in front of the National Museum’s Historical Building. On the day of the event from 10 am to 12 am visitors can find a tent on Jan Palach Square.

Tent staff will be on hand to advise museum goers on the selection of museums and accompanying programs, find transportation to the buildings, and distribute maps.

Transport between the individual buildings on the night of the event will once again provided by the Prague Public Transit Company which will run special museum bus lines.

Agriculture Museum

Prague Museum Night is organized by the National Museum, Prague Public Transport Company and the Czech Association of Museums and Galleries in cooperation with other institutions.

Entry to all buildings is free of charge, with the exception of the Vyšehrad NKP, which requests a symbolic entrance fee of 1 CZK is paid.
