This year's Designblok design and fashion show will take place at Prague Castle, alongside Veletržní palác and the Museum of Decorative Arts. The theme for the 25th jubilee year of this Central European showcase, occurring from Oct. 4–8, is "Journey."

The traveling exhibition, Designblok Cosmos, serves as a display case for contemporary Czech design, featuring 10 glass works by top designers. Its debut is set for the Ball Game Court in the Royal Garden, with its first international stop at Milan Design Week in April 2024.

Presented within the Ball Game Court's interior, the Made by Fire project exhibits 100 Czech works made from glass, porcelain, and ceramics, all kiln-fired locally.

Within the National Gallery's Veletržní palác, exhibition spaces will unveil fresh Czech and international design, adhering to the traditional formats of Superstudio—featuring companies and brands—and Openstudio, a platform for designers, studios, students, and independent creators. This is also the first time that Designblok will use this venue.

The Museum of Decorative Arts will host the Family Silver exhibition, spotlighting family-run businesses and manufacturers. Openstudio will introduce the High Craft exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts, presenting leading Czech designers and studios merging traditional craftsmanship, innovation, and aesthetic excellence.

More culture planned for the Castle

Prague Castle has also revealed additional exhibitions. Beginning on Sept. 22, the Imperial Stables will showcase the Windows of St. Vitus Cathedral, displaying various artists' designs for the cathedral's colorful windows.

From Oct. 10, the Prague Castle Riding Hall will house the extensive Czech and Slovak Architecture exhibition — a retrospective spanning over half a century, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the independent Czech and Slovak Republics' establishment.
