Due to high demand, overnight train from Prague to Croatia will run daily starting in mid-July

The popular overnight train from Prague to Croatia will begin operating daily starting July 11, according to a report in Seznam Zpravy.

The Regiojet train takes people from Prague or Brno to Slovenia and Rijeka, Croatia, on the northern Adriatic coast. After launching in June, the train service was so popular it sold more than 30,000 tickets in the first few weeks. Some trains even sold out, according to RegioJet spokesman Aleš Ondrůj. 

Previously, the long-distance train operated only on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Prague. Starting on July 11, Ondrůj said, the train will operate daily connections. Tickets are already on sale for the new daily trains.

The Regiojet service starts in Prague and will stop in Brno, Pardubice, Břeclav, Bratislava, Slovakia, and Ljubljana, Slovenia to onboard passengers before heading directly to Croatia. The train will arrive in Slovenia at around 5 a.m. and in Croatia before 9 a.m. The entire journey takes about 12 hours.

“We believe that there will be a great demand for even those new connections, RegioJet is going to start selling weekend stays at advantageous prices in the coming days,” Ondrůj said.
