It’s been six years since the Czech Republic last competed at Eurovision, the annual song contest that has seen widespread popularity throughout Europe since the 1950s.
That popularity hasn’t necessarily extended to the Czech Republic, however; after receiving zero points for their entry in 2009’s contest, and citing a lack of public interest, the country withdrew from the competition.
The Czech Republic will make a valiant return to the competition this year, however, when singers Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta will belt out the operatic rock ballad Hope Never Dies.

Eurovision 2015 is already underway, as sixteen contestants competed at the first Semi-Final last night. Ten countries, including Russia, Serbia, and Hungary, have made it to the Grand Final on Saturday.
Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta will represent the Czech Republic at the second Semi-Final tomorrow night in the hopes of making it through to Saturday’s Grand Final.
