The Prague Zoo kicks off annual pumpkin feasts (where the zoo's inhabitants snack on the pumpkins) on Oct. 26 with the activity running through Oct. 29.

Prague Botanical Garden will host a pumpkin carving event on Oct. 28-29; their annual Halloween Parade takes place on Oct. 31.

A pumpkin carving workshop at Výstaviště Praha on Oct. 29 invites participants to make spooky lanterns, prints, autumn jewelry, and other decorations. The event is open to children from 5 years old and adults, with parents accompanying kids under 10.

EDITOR'S PICK: Prague Halloween Trick-or-Treat for Charity 2023 On Oct. 31 families can trick or treat for charity in Prague's Vinohrady neighborhood at participating businesses and homes and help abandoned, neglected, or endangered children in the Czech Republic. This 7th annual event supports SOS Children's Villages International, providing homes and essential services to children in need. Register to participate, and online contributions are welcome until Nov. 5.

Hard Rock Cafe Prague hosts its annual Halloween celebration on Oct. 29; an activity-packed event for kids with face painting and pumpkin competitions (a free children's meal with an adult main course purchase). The adult party on Oct. 31, promises a DJ, a special menu, and Happy Hour drinks for those in costume.

On Sunday, Oct. 29 at Karlín Market enjoy traditional pumpkin carving, fairy tales, live music, creative workshops, and face painting. If you come in costume, there's a sweet treat in store for you. The day concludes with a lantern parade, accompanied by the Lovesong Orchestra.

The Lights tell... display at Žluté lázně will light up 400,000 lights for Halloween on Oct. 29. On the program, a Halloween quest trail, a ghost experience, a disco, creative workshops, pumpkin carving, masquerade ball with candy for costumes, an inflatable castle, photo booth, face painting, a much more. Part of the "lights tell stories" exhibition featuring 170 light sculptures and decorations.

Freaky films

The Shockproof Film Festival is a unique cinematic experience celebrating unconventional cinema. The annual fest showcases horror, gore, and obscure films. Held at Prague's Aero cinema, this year kicks off on Oct. 27 with An American Werewolf in London.

On Oct. 30 Movie Barf Monday at Edison Film Hub features The VelociPastor, a cult classic B horror that sees a priest gain the ability to transform into a dinosaur during a visit to China. The screening includes an introduction by a special Metro Comedy Club guest and a post-screening Q&A with film critic Martin Plestil.

On Oct. 30 the Prague LGBTQ+ Komunitní centrum's Queer Autumn Cinema 2023 has the classic horror-drama Carrie directed by Brian De Palma. Follow the torment and unleashing of telekinetic power in this vintage tale of revenge and retribution for just CZK 50.

On Oct. 31, a special screening of Practical Magic, the 1998 film based on the Alice Hoffman tale of the cursed Owens sisters, starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, encourages witchy costumes and consumption of midnight margaritas during the event. At Edison Film Hub.

For a spine-chilling film experience the NaFilM: National Film Museum transforms into a haunted house on Oct. 31, complete with a special early horror film screening. Dress in your best costume and receive a "healthy plasma" vial.

Costume parties

The SNDNB Halloween Rave on Oct. 27 at Prague's Cross Club sees DJs light up the night with drum and bass on the main stage until 7 a.m. and jungle and reggae on the Root stage until 5 a.m. Costumes are a must!

Every year, SaSaZu club and restaurant hosts one of the largest Halloween parties in Central Europe. The Bloody Sexy Halloween event on Oct. 27 and 28 promises two nights of horror shows, dance performances, and DJs. The annual costume contest carries a prize of CZK 40,000.

ČZU:Go! presents the 7th annual Student Halloween in Prague on Oct. 31. Join the spookiest night of the year at Radlická kulturní sportovna, featuring a church-themed party with a costume contest, Halloween drinks, and chilling decorations.

Spooktacular Halloween Night at The Mozart Prague's Hotel Café, has live music and specially crafted Halloween cocktails plus a costume contest on Oct. 31.

Manifesto Anděl is hosting its annual Manifestoween party on Oct. 28. Dust off your best Halloween costume and come for a spooky evening of hot and cold cocktails and food from the venue's 15 restaurants representing cuisines from around the world. Costumes encouraged.

Laid-back events

The Badass Women of Olšany Cemetery tour is a unique walk from Prague Feminist Tours that explores the graves of nine influential Czech women in the beautiful autumn setting of the cemetery. The tour lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes and operates on a pay-as-you wish basis. Multiplet dates and times available.

Roller Rink Prague and Prague Roller Girls are hosting a Halloween party in Vinohrady on Oct. 29 that invites skaters of all ages to enjoy spooky decorations, popcorn, the best mask contest, and a raffle. Skate rentals and a bar are available. Skater admission is 200 CZK, while non-skaters pay 120 CZK.

ALT Quiz invites both seasoned quizmasters and those who are new-to-pub quizzes, to gather for a night of frightful fun, competition, and fantastic prizes. The Under the Sauce Halloween quiz on Nov. 1 takes place at Detroit-style pizza joint Third Coast.

Divadlo Miloco is organizing A Beggars Halloween on Oct. 28 at Divadlo Na Prádle with attendees encouraged to wear costumes for a shot upon entry and a chance to win a cash prize for the best costume. The event features a one-act show and promises a wickedly entertaining experience, setting the tone for a spooktacular night.
