Exploring the Czech Republic isn't all historic cities and iconic breweries. Venturing off the beaten path reveals a distinct charm: tranquil farms inviting visitors to rejuvenate and unplug amidst serene rural landscapes.

From rustic barns repurposed into luxury accommodations to agritourism retreats complete with horseback riding and fishing, these farm stays offer authentic experiences paired with farm-to-table cuisine and fresh country air. As summer transitions into autumn, now is the perfect time to book a stay and soak up the final rays of the season.

Silverstone Living

There’s no formal reception at the Silverstone Living in Bystrá nad Jizerou—just a farmhouse where you announce your arrival. Depending on the time, you might enjoy a meal of Czech classics in a kitchen adorned with downhome decor. The rooms blend luxury with simplicity, featuring wood beams, cowhide rugs, and ceramic art. Outbuildings surrounding the lush courtyard include a spa, sauna, hot tub, and dining hall.

The green patchwork countryside is home to Czechia’s only covered bridge. Horses are available for riding and beef cattle graze on the grounds. A passion project that took 12 years to build, the property was meticulously renovated while assembling a staff with diverse talents—a chef, a shooting instructor, a masseuse, a horse trainer, and a sommelier from Prague.

The word fairytale is often overused, but during a visit to the property, a theme wedding based on the Czech film adaptation of Cinderella was underway!

Oblík Resort

The Oblík Resort, nestled in the heart of the Central Bohemian Highlands, offers a retreat from city life just an hour from Prague. Located on a stunning 17th-century estate within a National Nature Reserve, guests can enjoy cozy, fully equipped deluxe rooms and suites with private balconies, modern amenities, and a mix of historic and contemporary design.

The resort’s farm-to-table restaurant, led by a Michelin-starred chef, offers premium Czech and international cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients. For relaxation, the resort features a sleek spa with saunas, whirlpool baths, and yoga facilities, all surrounded by nature’s beauty. Activities include hiking, Nordic walking, and interacting with farm animals, making it an ideal destination for families, couples, and solo travelers.

The Oblík Resort is also a popular wedding venue, with options for ceremonies on the terrace or in a remodeled barn, accommodating up to 250 guests. The resort’s scenic location, luxurious amenities, and regional excursions to nearby Libochovice Chateau and the Church of the Virgin Mary make it a must-visit.

Zikmundov

Located on Adam Havlíček’s family estate near Zlín, Moravia is a historic gem housed in a former gamekeeper’s lodge dating back to 1612. Local architect Luděk del Maschio, working with sculptor Patrick Čabla, skillfully restored the building, preserving its original pillars while integrating modern elements.

The themed guest rooms (Under the Hearth, Aeronautics, Mirror, and Aquarium) are adorned with colorful wallpapers and feature a mix of rustic wood and stone and eclectic furniture. Visitors can enjoy various local activities, including horseback riding and hiking, or unwind in the wellness area with two wood-fired bath barrels. Meals are a highlight; the kitchen serves fresh, local ingredients daily, with breakfast and dinner included in your stay.

Havlíček, first established a blueberry farm with actor Karel Roden before expanding the estate with a handmade glass factory. This unique history adds a fascinating layer to the experience.

Angusfarm

Angusfarm Soběsuky, located about an hour south of Plzeň and surrounded by lush countryside, is a cozy inn and a restaurant where Old Bohemian farmhouse meets Texas tack room. Guests can savor locally raised Aberdeen Angus beef, from the delicate beef broth in the soup to the succulent tasting plate of various steak cuts (served with port wine, rosemary, and green pepper sauces).

After indulging in Moravian and French wines, the stylish on-site lodgings are highly convenient. A night in the Apartmá, a two-bedroom suite adorned with cowhide wall hangings, rugged wood furniture, and a sauna and freestanding tub, provides a refreshing escape from the city.

Breakfast, included in the room rate, is a simple yet delicious spread of crusty bread, fresh fruit preserves, and Czech-style scrambled eggs. Angusfarm is a prime choice for a romantic getaway from Prague or to explore the rolling meadows and villages of West Bohemia via Plzeň.

Lavender Valley

If you’re looking for a little more luxury (without spending much money), head to Chodoun, a small village near Beroun, surrounded by the Křivoklát Highlands and protected landscape areas. Here, you’ll enjoy a sustainable, lavender-scented experience in the heart of Barrandien Geopark.

Once you arrive at Lavender Valley, indulge in aromatherapy or grab a bite at their local farm-to-table restaurant. If you want to venture away from the breathtaking fields, you’ll find plenty to do nearby.

Down the road is Farm Stehlík, which has a selection of tasty, locally-grown products, and surrounding the town are many tranquil hiking trails to explore. If you want to make it an overnight, Lavender Valley now offers glamping experiences: tents, caravans, and tiny homes amongst its organic lavender fields.

Farma Michael

Farma Michael is a stunning example of transformation and restoration in the heart of the Czech countryside. Once a decaying estate, it has been lovingly revitalized by its new owner, who restored the historical buildings and rejuvenated the surrounding landscape. The farm now boasts lush fields, pastures, a serene pond, and a thriving forest managed with care.

In collaboration with the architectural studio Z. Deyl, the owner preserved the farm’s medieval character while creating a timeless, harmonious retreat. The centerpiece of the estate is a fortress, an architectural ensemble where historic charm meets modern luxury. The interiors, inspired by traditional Czech manor houses, are filled with atypical furnishings and curated artifacts that enhance the authenticity and elegance of the space.

The farm is also home to Paint Horse and Hanoverian horses for rides, lessons, and therapeutic sessions with a physiotherapist. Aberdeen Angus cattle, piglets, turkeys, and geese, all free-range, are raised on-site. Ponds offer carp, zander, pike, and tench, which guests can catch themselves. Most ingredients for the kitchen come from the farm, including homemade cheese paired with quality French wine.
