Hilton Ice Bar

Cloud 9 sky bar & lounge opened an ice bar on the terrace of the Hilton Prague on January 15 in the evening. It is a unique concept, where the visitors can admire four meter long specially lit bar, ice sculptures, barman show and taste ice vodka shooters, Champaign and oysters. At the same time, guests have an opportunity to admire views of snowy Prague and enjoy chill out and lounge music by Cloud 9 DJs.

The bar and the landscaping including icy seats and tables were built within two days from 15 cubic meters of ice. The ice was delivered to the hotel in bricks of 70 x 40 x 15 cm. Individual bricks were put up on each other and bound together only by melting and refreezing the individual bricks, which resulted in a stabile construction.

The Cloud 9 ice bar will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday till February 7 from 10 PM till midnight. The ice bar operation is subject to favourable weather conditions. The entrance for 30 minutes is CZK 590 and includes a Taittinger Champaign welcome drink, oyster bar and unlimited consumption of ice vodka shooters. These were created by one of the best Czech bartenders Roman Uhlíř, who participated in the opening of the Cloud 9, together with the head bartender Zdeněk Záliš. Ice bar offers six shooters including e.g. Minus 9 with vodka, cranberry juice and elderberry syrup, Ice Prague with vodka, Vermouth Rosso, Campari and Amaretto or Snow Sky with vodka, litchi liqueur and lime juice.

The ice bar can be open outside of the opening hours for groups upon prior reservation.

“I was inspired by a visit to an ice hotel during my stay in Sweden,” explains Roman Uhlíř. This concept is very popular in Nordic countries, so I had an idea to underline the freezing winter weather by creation of the ice bar in Prague. For drinks I got inspired by Nordic ingredients, such as vodka, elderberries, cranberries or blueberries. Same as Cloud 9 sky bar & lounge, the ice bar concept is so unique that you should not miss.”

Cloud 9 sky bar & lounge is both a meeting place for the important and the famous and a synonym   for great fun.
