Hollywood actress Gillian Anderson will be part of a new film to be filmed in the Czech Republic, according to a report by Deadline.
The X-Files star, who recently appeared in The Crown as Margaret Thatcher, will appear in "White Bird: A Wonder Story," from the Lionsgate studio. It will be directed by Marc Forster and is set in the same universe as the 2017 film "Wonder."
This week the Golden Globe nominees were announced with Anderson picking up a nomination for her portrayal of the former British Prime Minister in the Netflix series. The award winners will be announced on Feb. 28 at a ceremony in California.
"I’m quite teary. It was a long journey. I put my heart and my soul into the role, so it feels very moving to have been recognized and to have been recognized alongside so many wonderful actresses," Anderson said, according to Variety.
This latest film project will follow the story of a young Jewish girl hidden by a family in Nazi-occupied France, with the Hollywood actress playing a character called Vivienne.
A million congratulations to my co-stars & fellow nominees! And thank you thank you thank you to all my peers out there who ticked my box!
The rest of the cast and crew has yet to be confirmed for the project, other than the director, who has also been involved in projects such as "Quantum of Solace", "Finding Neverland", and "World War Z."
Anderson has previously won a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award for her time on The X-Files. According to The Prague Reporter, she also starred in "The Spy Who Dumped Me," which also features scenes that were filmed in the Czech Republic.
