A parking sign in rather poor taste has caused quite a stir on social media.

Our Café, located at Krizikova 68, hasn’t even opened yet, but that hasn’t stopped the venue from receiving some negative publicity via Facebook.

A parking sign currently outside the venue reads “Slim horny girls parking only. All others will be raped.”

Facebook user Carina W. originally posted a photo of the sign to the Facebook group Crowdsauce CZ.

“In addition to being bad business practice to threaten your customers with rape, threats of violence towards women are just not funny,” she wrote.

“I’ve already politely spoken to the owner of the place, who was cordial but dismissive.”

A slew of comments quickly ensued.

“The owner is trying to be funny, but it just shows his limits as the human being,” writes Eva S.

“APPALLING!!!!” commented Kate H. “I live in Karlin and I will definitely be boycotting this cafe.”

In comments on their Facebook page (which have since been taken down), responses by Our Café only drew further ire.

While comments on their wall have been deleted, at the time of writing the café has received 20 negative 1-star reviews on their Facebook page

On the Crowdsauce CZ group, the picture of the sign was flagged as abusive and removed by Facebook.

I took a stroll by Our Café earlier this morning to see if the sign was still in place. It is, and there’s another parking sign in far better taste a few meters away from it.

Maybe it’s just a joke gone horribly wrong. We reached out to Our Café via Facebook earlier today but have yet to hear back; I’ll update this story if and when they do write to us.

UPDATE: According to recent posts on Crowdsauce, as of 11:30 this morning the sign has been removed.

Both signs have indeed been taken down:
