Beginning next week, Prague passengers will be faced with yet another long-term metro exit closure — if you’re commuting through the center of the Czech capital take note.
As of Sunday, October 9, 2018, entry and exit vestibules for the B line metro station at Karlovo náměstí will close for escalator maintenance, electrical wiring work, and other repairs.
Entrance to and exit from the Karlovo náměstí station will be accessible only via the Palackého náměstí entrance.
According to the DPP website, the repairs should last until approximately August of next year.
The closures will also affect bus connection 148 at Palackého náměstí — the stop will be relocated to Na Moráni Street at the crossroads of Dittrichova Street.
Similar long-term closures recently took place along the busy transport hubs of Náměstí Republiky and Anděl stations, also on the B line.
Karlovo náměstí station on the Prague Metro Line B was built in the mid 80’s. The station, which is about 40 meters below ground level, has two vestibules, Karlovo and Palackého náměstí.
