After going on tour, the first ever interactive movie, Kinoautomat by Radúz Činčera, returns to its home cinema. Kino Světozor is where the first viewers in our country had the chance to see it, nearly 40 years ago. Beginning June 9, 2009, audiences will have 10 opportunities to experience it.

Kinoautomat will be presented by Josef Polášek, Tomáš Matonoha and the one and only original presenter – Eduard Hrubeš. English-speaking viewers will have two opportunities to experience Kinoautomat in English with presenter Alena Činčerová.

Dates
Kino Světozor introduces Kinoautomat in Czech on 9, 12, 17, 19 and 23-24 June 2009 always at 7 p.m. Kinoautomat will be hosted in English at 7pm on June 20 and 25.

Back from Tour

Two years ago, Kino Světozor hosted a revival of Kinoautomat after 40 years, which triggered the rebirth of the phenomenon of Radúz Činčera. Kinoautomat then went on tour across the Czech Republic and over two years it visited the Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště, Boskovice, Hradec Králové, Jihlava, Brno, Děčín and other towns. It also traveled abroad, namely to the Slovak edition of Febiofest in Bratislava, Košice, and Basel where it was introduced in English and German. It was screened at the festival in Motovun (Croatia), Newcastle, the Offscreen festival in Brussels, and also in Washington, DC. Over the past 24 months, more than 15,000 spectators have seen Kinoautomat live. This autumn Kinoautomat is heading for a great tour across Italy in the newly made Italian version. Next year, it will return to the USA, in both New York and Los Angeles.

Men in their Forties or Teenagers – Everyone Is Entertained

“Kinoautomat, although it is a 40-year-old idea which enables viewers to decide the film storyline through a voting device, is still alive and is also attracting younger audiences who thrive on much more modern technologies than those which the creators of Kinoautomat could have dreamed of.” – Petr Jirasek, director of Kino Svetozor comments upon the introduction of Kinoautomat.

Advance Booking
Tickets for all performances in Czech can be purchased from 15 May for 150 CZK, students and pensioners for 100 CZK. Tickets for the English screenings will be available for 250 CZK.
