Lighting Up Prague Winter: SIGNAL Fest Comes Early In 2018

Organizers have announced a new projection, which will take place in the neo-renaissance Rudolfinum concert hall in early 2018.

The SIM/NEBULA projects is a 50-minute-long video mapping on the interior of the Dvořák Hall with music by Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra.

“The plot of the projection is divided into seven thematic parts set in the background of the visual show,” says a rep from SIGNAL fest.

The uniqueness of the project lays not only in the interior space chosen for the video mapping but also in the connection of a visual show with live classical music.

The orchestra, conducted by Jan Kučera, will perform Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World,” composed in 1893 while Dvořák was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America, the symphonic poem “Vltava” by Bedřich Smetana, the “Carnival” prelude by Antonín Dvořák and more.

SIM/NEBULA was prepared in collaboration with 11 international artists from 6 different countries under the artistic supervision of visual artist Amar Mulabegovič from the creative studio The Macula.

Performances will take place February 16-18, 2018 and several slots are already sold out.

The traditional SIGNAL festival takes place in Prague in autumn.
