A summertime live events series at Nelahozeves Castle launches this weekend with a special Children’s Day program.

Nelahozeves Castle, a Renaissance-era castle located 25 km north of Prague, makes for an easy day trip from Prague.

The castle has prepared a number of children-friendly activities for Saturday. All activities will comply with health regulations and protective health measures.

Throughout the day, Sváťovo Dividlo will put on theater performances and live juggling acts. A falconer will show off his birds and how they fly. In addition, animal lovers can enjoy pony rides. Kids will also be able to participate in games and competitions in the Castle gardens as well as play in a bouncy castle.

Organizers have planned more than just activities, though. In addition, handmade products and delicious snacks will be available for purchase. There will be barbecuing in the courtyard with local wines at the Lobkowicz Roudnice Winery stand.

Throughout the day, families can tour the castle for no added cost. The castle has twelve period-decorated rooms containing works by Rubens, Veronese, and Cranach as part of its collection of artworks.

The castle’s series of events for Live Saturdays will continue throughout the summer. The full schedule has not been released; however, expect events centered around wine harvests, a day with rescue services, and the day in the life of an artist.

Tickets for this Saturday’s event cost 130 CZK for adults and 90 CZK for children. For more information on the Live Saturdays series, head to the castle’s website by clicking here.
