A brand new concept store, designed by architect Martin Prokš, is being opened by the Czechdesign at Myslíkova 5, just a few steps from the center and existing store on Vojtěšská.

It will open to the public with an event on Wednesday, June 17.

Since 2003, the Czechdesign organization has become an epicenter for Czech design.

From the initial enthusiasm of design students, a professional organization emerged, which has several activities. It operates the most widely read local design portal czechdesign.cz, helps companies and institutions with design competitions and, through a stone shop and e-shop, gives designers the opportunity to sell their products.

The original Czechdesign sales gallery was located in Vojtěšská 3, now a completely new concept store is moving just a few steps away to Myslíkova 5. Czech design will now reach the eyes of more passers-by and tourists. The opening hours have also been extended to Monday–Friday 11–19, Saturday–Sunday 10–18.

The area around Mánes has revived in recent years and is becoming an attractive zone for small businesses. Papelote, ArtMap, The Real Meat Society, Show the Room, and Soap are all located here, as is the recently opened Artic Bakehouse.

The designers of the interior concept is Martin Prokš from the Prokš Přikryl Architekti studio. The interior design of the store is based on the character of the place itself and uses its potential to the maximum extent possible.

The dark section of the shop is conceived as a jewelry cabinet, where the wedding rings of the Marriage project, which the organization recently introduced, also have their place. In the brighter section, there is another assortment, such as backpacks and other fashion accessories, cosmetics, glass, ceramics, porcelain, books, and paper goods.

“We live by design, we believe in it, we choose every piece with great care. We hope that the Czechdesign store will become the first logical place to go if you want to buy Czech design, but especially original Czech jewelry, of which we have an exceptional selection, ” says Jana Vinšová, Director of Czechdesign.

The grand opening of the store to the public will take place on Tuesday, June 17, at 7 p.m. Visitors can expect new collections of designers, a discount on purchases, and music with Veronika Ruppert’s DJ set.
