A delegation of Czech athletes from the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang will land at Prague’s Václav Havel Airport this afternoon at 13:35—and city officials say they will receive a proper homecoming.

As reported last week, the Czech capital has prepared a welcome ceremony in the Old Town to honor Olympians returning from the 2018 games.

A program featuring music and live reportage will take place on the main stage, accompanied by a large screen, beginning at 15:00.

Several of the returning medalists led by double gold winner Ester Ledecká, are slated to arrive at 17:00 directly from the airport.

Michal Krčmář (silver in Biathlon), speed skater Martina Sáblíková (silver in speed skating), Veronika Vítková (bronze in downhill biathlon sprint), Eva Samková (bronze in snowboard cross), and Karolina Erbanová (bronze in speed skating) are also due to appear.

Ledecká stunned the world by picking up two golds (ski super-G and parallel slalom in the snowboard) in South Korea on Saturday.

She is the first woman to win two gold medals in two different sports at one Olympics and the fifth person ever to win gold in two events.

Ledecká was a flag-carrier during the Olympic closing ceremony.

It will be a true homecoming for the 22-year-old who hails from Prague’s Old Town.

The total Czech medal count was 2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze for a total of 7 medals.
