With a fiery concert, Rammstein launched their European tour at Letňany airport, drawing 60,000 fans. The industrial metal group showcased pyrotechnics, elaborate visuals, and eccentric costumes. Hits like Du riechst so gut and Deutschland thrilled the audience, along with tracks from their latest album Zeit. Stringent security measures were enforced, limiting entry for minors. The event marked one of Letňany’s largest gatherings since Ed Sheeran’s 2019 concerts, with a second show scheduled for Sunday. A special fans-only warm-up took place on Friday.




World Hockey Championships

The Czech Republic secured their second win in the Ice Hockey World Championships, defeating Norway 6-3 in Prague on Saturday. Captain Roman Červenka marked his 200th national team appearance with two goals. Despite an uncertain start, the Czechs dominated with a 49-11 shot advantage. Their next match is against Switzerland on Monday. The championships take place at Prague’s O2 Arena and Ostravar Aréna, with the final scheduled for May 26 in Prague.

Opening concert May 12
The 79th Prague Spring Festival commenced Sunday with the Berlin Philharmonic’s performance of Bedřich Smetana’s Má Vlast, conducted by Kirill Petrenko at Prague’s Municipal House. President Petr Pavel and his wife Eva were in attendance. Earlier, a tribute at Smetana’s grave in Vyšehrad marked the composer’s 200th birth anniversary. The sold-out show was also screened live at Prague’s Kampa Park. Concerts and events are scheduled for festival attendees until June 3.
