Prague College is pleased to announce its 1st annual BA Graphic Design Graduation Show, which will be held in the AF BKK gallery in Vysocanska between May 10th and May 20th, 2010.

The show features work by 19 international students studying in English on the BA Graphic Design program run in conjunction with Teesside University in the UK. The students come from all over Europe and beyond- Czech Republic, Slovakia, Finland, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Macedonia and Bulgaria – to study at Prague College and help to bring a truly international atmosphere to the programme.

The focus of the exhibition is the students´ final project, which is the main module of the BA third year. The projects are chosen according to the students´ personal areas of interest and specialization. Students independently select their project themes, and write their own briefs, before developing their designs, formats, and materials based on their target audience. This results in a wide range of creative projects and products, such as books, advertising campaigns, branding and corporate identities, on-line shops, fanzines and magazines.

Students will also present work from other BA modules, including national and international competitions such as ISTD, D&AD, Penguin, Puffin, Macmillan, and live projects such as Underground City XXI. The dissertation module, written in English, will also be on show. The Professional Communication module helps students to prepare for their future careers as well as further study. One student has already been offered a place at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in the US.

Private work and work from the two year HND course at Prague College will also be in the student´s portfolios, and placed around the gallery space.

“This final year of BA studies gave us much freedom of choice of projects to work on and techniques we could use. In fact the program encouraged us to experiment and develop one´s imagination, which is valuable especially when you are still searching for your personal style and an area to concentrate on.” Oksana Shmygol, exhibiting student.

Prague College is a university in Prague offering prestigious and internationally recognized British bachelor and master´s degrees in Business and Art and Design. These programmes are run in partnership with Teesside University, which was awarded the title of Times Higher Education UK University of the Year in 2009/10.

The private view is open to the public on May 10th from 17:00 until 21.00. The gallery will be open also daily, except weekends, from 10.00 until 17.00 until Thursday 20th May.
