Prague's Botanical Garden in Prague invites visitors to revel in the festive spirit with a special pre-Christmas program over the coming weeks. The recent snowfall in Prague has added some special flair to the garden's holiday festivities.

Part of the Botanical Garden's Christmas experience is an enchanting Bethlehem trail. This unique experience, nestled in the heart of the garden, offers a journey through the story of Bethlehem, creating a magical atmosphere with several themed stops along the way.

The Bethlehem trail leads visitors to a nomadic shelter, or yurt, symbolizing the humble stable where Baby Jesus was born. The yurt contains an interactive exhibit featuring a panorama depicting the story of the birth of Jesus, Christmas tea, and poems from the pen of Radek Malý.

Created by the Forman Brothers Theatre, the yurt emanates warmth with the crackling of wood in the stove and fragrant tea brewing for weary pilgrims. The rustic heating adds to the authenticity, reminiscent of the manger in Bethlehem. The yurt's interior transforms into a display of Christmas wonders, featuring puppets, carved statues, nativity scenes, stained glass windows, and more.

The Bethlehem Yurt experience at Prague's Botanical Garden is now open and runs through Sunday, January 7. Admission is available with the price of a standard ticket to the venue, which runs from CZK 150 for adults.

Accompanying the Bethlehem Yurt experience over the coming weeks are special Advent workshops, allowing visitors to craft their own nativity scenes or festive tree decorations and providing a hands-on and creative way to engage with the Christmas spirit.

This weekend (December 9-10), activities include creating Christmas decorations from recycled materials; next weekend (December 16-17), workshops will include and producing wooden figurines with a Christmas theme. Admission to the workshops runs from CZK 30 - 150 and includes materials used in the creation of decorations.

Prague's Botanical Garden, including the Fata Morgana greenhouse and St. Clary Winery, remains open throughout the Christmas season, offering visitors a chance to get in the festive spirit even on the holidays. The venue is open daily from 9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., but closes at 2:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
