Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) is launching a new MBA program focused on IT management and business transformation, which will be taught entirely in English.
The new program is designed for aspiring leaders in IT sectors, such as tech companies, IT departments and startups. It integrates networking and in-person weekend learning, facilitating direct interactions with industry leaders, peers, potential future collaborators and business partners.
Information technology management and data analytics are often crucial for companies' survival in the new conditions of extreme uncertainty. People who possess these skills frequently drive change and, as a result, significantly advance in their careers, says Ota Novotný, director of two transformative MBA programs operated by his expert platform, Data & Business VŠE. He will oversee the new IT MBA program.
Novotný and his team have accumulated several years of experience and have more than 100 satisfied graduates from their Data and Analytics for Business Management MBA program, which is taught in Czech.
I aim to work with individuals who have strong goals and are committed to pursuing them. We don't just want to sell our MBA to anyone who applies; we seek those eager to change, advance, and transform themselves. That way, it is fulfilling for everyone involved, including me,” says Novotný, who runs MBA programs within the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics (FIS VŠE).
These transformative programs are specifically tailored to particular business areas, unlike many broadly focused managerial programs commonly available on the market.
VŠE is now looking to have the same success with the new MBA program in IT Management and Business Transformation, which will be offered in English. This expansion aims to make their specialized programs accessible to tech-oriented international professionals seeking new challenges in the Czech Republic. The new MBA program is ideal for those aiming to master IT governance, cybersecurity, and strategic IT-driven business growth.
The curriculum for the IT MBA program will be enriched by collaborations with prominent international academic institutions such as SCET UC Berkeley. Leading experts from major corporations, including ŠKODA Auto, Nestlé and KPMG, are also collaborating, ensuring the program remains cutting-edge and industry-relevant.
“Our program often acts as a catalyst for much broader changes in students’ lives than they initially imagined. This is where our main expertise lies, beyond an excellent base of lecturers, a network and a well-prepared curriculum. We know that such studies and changes can sometimes be painful, but we are prepared to guide people through these transformative experiences,” says Novotný.
The MBA IT Management & Business Transformation program Open Day is scheduled for March 21 at 5 p.m. in the Quattro Modulare room at the VŠE Žižkov campus. This event offers prospective students a chance to meet the program’s founders, ask questions, and tour the facilities where the classes will be held.
Those interested in attending can RSVP by filling out the online form. Additional questions can be sent to the study coordinator, Karolina, at mbafis@vse.cz.
