Prague has had zombie walks since 2008, but recently it has been sporadic. This year, Prague Zombie Walk 2019 takes place October 23, in connection with the premiere of the new horror film Zombieland: Double Tap.

Cosplaying zombies should meet at 5 pm at Prague Fear House, just off of Wenceslas Square on Vodičkova Street, and at 6:30 pm the group will head from Můstek to Anděl, presumably via metro, where it will end up at the Cinestar multiplex at 7 pm.

The people with 10 best costumes will get to go to the premiere of the film. More information on the walk can be found on the Facebook page. An online registration form can be found here.

This walk is but
shorter than previous ones, and based on the itinerary “walk”
seems a bit of an exaggeration. But it will have to suffice until
someone steps up to organize a proper event in the future.

The first
incarnation of zombie walks ran from 2008 to ’14. It was revived as
Zombie Walk Prague: Next Generation in 2017 and ’18. This new walk
is not related to the previous editions. There have also been zombie
night runs.

The walks used to snake through the city center with a police escort. One year, then-mayor Adriana Krnáčová even gave a speech before one of the walks, praising the wide variety of events the city has to offer. Costumed participants during the walk would pounce on unsuspecting tourists.

Zombieland: Double Tap (Zombieland: Rána jistoty) is a sequel to the 2009 comedy horror film Zombieland. Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone return from the original film to pick up events a decade later.

The plot involves a road trip to Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley, and a new and stronger type of zombie that is harder to kill. the film is hitting theaters just in time for Halloween.
