Who doesn’t love a good city index? Those ubiquitous rankings can be useful for comparing a city’s living costs and quality of life or for enjoying simple pride of place when your hometown or country tops a list.
But while real estate prices and the cost of a Big Mac are useful bits of info, some indices lack the vital stats you need before traveling or up and relocating to a given destination: like how much does it cost to buy weed there?
Thanks to a newly released ranking you can now comparison shop for cannabis. The Cannabis Price Index, compiled by Seedo Lab reveals how much people around the world pay for pot and how much of it they smoke.
Prague placed relatively high on the index at #43 in an overall ranking of cost and consumption in 120 cities around the world.
Dublin has the most expensive cannabis in Europe $21.63 (€17.37) per gram, while Antwerp in Belgium boasts the cheapest bud at $4.29 (€3.45) per gram.
In Prague, where cannabis is considered “partially” legal, the price per gram is given as 10.47 USD (a little over 200 CZK) per gram – hardly the most expensive, but not the cheapest either.
For all you pride of place people, Prague did come out a winner in one category: it placed #9 among the top 10 countries in the EU where the most pot is consumed annually (7.89 metric tons).
Brexit notwithstanding, Londoners smoke the most weed in the EU (31.4 metric tons), followed by Barcelona and Rome.
