Summer in Prague is the season of tramspotting, as tram tracks are repaired and routes thrown into disarray. Some metro service is also going to be affected.

The good news is the repairs to the tracks on Vinohradská from Muzeum to Flora are ahead of schedule, and will finish June 28 instead of July 13. This affects the 11, 13 and 23 tram lines.

“Very good work organization, functional routes for transporting and removing material, quality construction machines, use of longer rails (leading to fewer welds) and ideal weather: All this helped us to accelerate the work in Vinohradská,” Jan Šurovský, technical director of the surface section and a member of the board of directors of the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP), said.

In mid-June, DPP will start renovating tracks on Plzeňská Street to replace the switch points. Work will take place in several phases.

The DPP is also preparing to replace the sleepers on the metro line C from the Pražského povstání to Kačerov.

There will also be repairs to tracks on Palackého náměstí, Rašínovo nábřeží, Spojovací Street, náměstí Bratří Synků and Na Poříčí. In addition, there will be restrictions on Francouzská,Street and the Zahradní Město underpasses.
