A team of artists under the guidance of filmmaker Amalie Kovarova have spent the past year transforming an abandoned industrial building on Delnicka Street into Továrna (Factory), the city’s newest multipurpose space.

The project, supported by building owners the FIM Group, currently seeks creatives to fill its 9,800 square meters already fillling with studio spaces (artists Roman Tyc, Julius Reichel, Daniela Kožmínová, and Martin Fischer will work there), galleries, workshops, and, a motorbike garage, which will open Továrna October 29-30 with its All Ride Moto Show 2016.

“We want it to become an incubator for variously skilled people such as passionate bikers, creative artists, progressive filmmakers or even great bartenders,” said Kovarova, whose Production Pool offices are located on the premises.

All Ride Moto Show 2016 will exhibit 50 eye-popping custom bikes plus accessories and gear for the motorcycle enthusiast.

“We did our best to pick a portfolio of machines that were created by Czech artists and even a few pieces from abroad,” says Giulio De Blasio of Custom Culture Club.

An accompanying program features other Továrna tenants including printing studio PopMachine, publishing company PageFive, who will run a poster shop and gallery on the ground floor, as well as events: silent cinema, relaxation zone, barber chair, a bar and pop-up shops are all on the ticket.

“We wants to present new technologies, contribute to the cultural life of the Holešovice district and support local designers. That is excatly what will happen with our first exhibition,” says Kovarova.

From October 31, Továrna cafe and bar will be open daily from 13:00-22:00 with film screenings taking place every Thursday and monthly upcycling workshops by Já na tom dělám studio. A Christmas design market is slated for December 2-4.
