Sometimes there is nothing better than fried food in the morning, particularly if you had a drink or two the night before. The "full English breakfast" is often sighted as a hangover cure or just a great way to start the day, albeit not great on the waistline!

At the time of publication, restaurants and cafes are currently not able to serve food to people inside venues but there are still plenty of ways to get your bacon, sausages, eggs, mushrooms, and all the rest either through delivery or collection.

So we asked some of our readers for recommendations on their top places to get a fry up.

To our non-British readers, a "full English breakfast" or a "fry-up" consists of fried eggs, sausages, back bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, (toasted or fried) bread, beans, and occasionally black or white pudding. It can be washed down with orange juice, coffee, or tea, while there is some variation with some people adding hash browns or having their egg scrambled.

Nosh

Come get your breakfast from us @manifesto.market from 8am-8pm. Delivery is available from 930am-9pm. Stick with the classics or build your own🌞

There are a few breakfast options at Nosh including the full English which has two bacon, sausage, hash browns, and eggs with black pudding, mushrooms, toast, beans, and a grilled tomato (one of your five a day?). Alternatively, they have a "belly buster" or french toast and you can even build your own. Nosh also offers vegetarian sausages on their menu for your veggie friend!

They are based at Manifesto Market in Florenc and you can order via Wolt, Bolt Foods or Dame Jidlo. A full menu can be found on the Nosh website.

Marthy’s Kitchen

Marthy's Kitchen offers brunch and breakfast options with pastries from their oven and (if your breakfast is a bit later) delicious wines! The English breakfast here consists of two fried eggs with lightly smoked beans, bacon, herb sausages, grilled tomatoes, and Portobello mushrooms, served with herb butter and pastries.

They also have a French breakfast and a continental option. These can all be ordered online via onemenu or Wolt. If you are feeling a bit fruity you can add mimosa or a rosé spritz to compliment your brekkie!

Rohlík

If you want something doing, do it yourself! Bacon, sausages, beans, bread, and even black pudding can be purchased online using the Rohlik website. You may have to cook it yourself, but you can make it to your own style and add or remove any ingredients you'd rather skip. Plus you don't have to go out to collect the food so if you have drunk too much the night before or don't fancy getting out of your pajamas, this might be the safest option!

As a bonus, you can also order other bits of shopping that you may need in the future and maybe some fruit for the guilt of eating a large breakfast. Order online via Rohlik.cz.

Café Savoy

Nový rok nám přináší nečekané provozní výzvy, a proto jsme nuceni od zítřka změnit otevírací dobu. Budeme se na vás...

Café Savoy offers a full English breakfast including English bacon, beans in tomatoes, fried egg, pork sausage, a portobello mushroom, bread, black tea with milk, and fresh orange juice. This can be ordered directly from their website. They also have a wide range of different breakfasts and omelets which can be ordered.

The restaurant is also available on Wolt, although the English breakfast doesn't appear on the Wolt menu. There are however a number of other breakfast options including a breakfast set for two on the delivery site.

Café Imperial

An English breakfast, but make it at a venue that boasts a famous television chef! Zdeněk Pohlreich is a chef at Café Imperial and helped found the establishment and while you aren't able to eat inside you can still order breakfast to go.

The meal consists of toast, fried eggs, bacon, beans sausage, and butter. If you want something a little bit different they also offer American and French breakfasts as well as pastries and treats. At present the breakfast option doesn't appear to be on the delivery menu but definitely one to keep a note of when restaurants re-open!

And a full Irish breakfast at the James Joyce Irish Pub

Come down to James Joyce and start your weekend right with a proper breakfast! Full Irish breakfast 🍳🥓, pint of Guinness and sitting by the fireplace 🔥🔥🔥, what else do you need?

While not technically a full English, some people would argue that an Irish breakfast is better, as long as it's fried we don't mind! The Irish Fry Up from James Joyce Irish Pub includes Irish bacon & sausages, black & white pudding, two sunny side up fried eggs, grilled mushrooms, hash browns, baked beans, toast, and butter. It is served all day so you can have it even if you wake up a bit later.

The full menu can be seen on the James Joyce website, you can order for collection and they also have a phone number if you are interested in delivery.

The article came about following a suggestion that our "pic of the day" showing a full English breakfast wasn't quite full enough, so hopefully one or all of these meet the criteria!

Restaurants and cafes can't currently open due to the latest coronavirus restrictions but hopefully, it won't be long before you will be able to visit these establishments and try out their breakfast offerings in person. You can follow the latest coronavirus news for the Czech Republic here.
