UK-based physical theatre company Limbik bring their acclaimed production The Harbour to the Prague Fringe Festival.

The Harbour is a funny, moving and visually striking piece of theatre, a retelling of an old selkie myth about a fisherman whose life is overturned when he brings a seal woman home from the sea…

Peter—a quiet, awkward fisherman—still lives at home with his acerbic and overbearing mother. One fateful night, he brings a seal-woman home from the sea. As Sally grows into life on land, their hopes and secrets catastrophically collide in this funny, moving, and visually striking retelling of a selkie myth. With simple staging and haunting live music, The Harbour unearths an over-fished world filled with impossible desires.

Limbik creates new theatre work that explores human stories set in epic environments, combining innovative theatrical style with strong narrative craft.

The show is for a general audience and suitable for everyone aged 12 upwards and due to its highly innovative style and breathtaking physicality, has a particular appeal to drama students.

The production has already toured around the UK and Ireland.

Philip Hardy, Artistic Director of Ireland’s Barnstorm Theatre, on Limbik and The Harbour: “Limbik is such an exciting and innovative theatre company, and The Harbour is a perfect example of Physical Storytelling at its best.”

The British Theatre Guide proclaimed The Harbour to be, “a haunting tale beautifully told…impressive and skillful,” while the East Anglia Daily Press called the show, “A masterclass in surreal storytelling.”
