Jaroslav Foglar Exhibit
May 20

A new free exhibit in the Lucerna Gallery commemorates 80 years of the work of author Jaroslav Foglar who, with illustrator Jan Fischer created the Rapid Arrows (Rychlé šípy) series of comics, enduring tales of boyhood and friendship.

Prague Design Week
May 21-27

The international design festival Prague Design Week 2018 takes place on two floors of Hybernska Campus, where 80 Czech and international designers, studios, artists, jewelers, and fashion labels will sell their wares. An accompanying program of workshops, screenings, and exhibits rounds out this fifth annual event.

Mořevkomoře (Fête de la Bretagne)
May 22

This Czech version of the Fête de la Bretagne promises crepes, cider, dancing, and an array of traditional music including tunes from the Breton Band and an electro-folk afterparty. A wide range of activities for families makes this celebration of France’s diverse northwestern coastal region fun for all ages. Takes place on Loď Tajemství at Rašínovo nábřeží.

Children’s Day In Wallenstein Gardens
May 22

The opening of a new exhibit, Playful Architect, representing the best works of children’s paintings of historical architecture includes a rich program for kids. Musical performances (choir and drumming) and fun workshops and a tour will take place in the glorious surrounds of the Baroque Senate gardens.

Kamasi Washington
May 23

One of the greatest jazz discovery of the decade, American saxophonist Kamasi Washington blends elements of R&B, hip-hop and classical. Washington, who has collaborated with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Lauryn Hill, and Snoop Dogg, will present his highly-anticipated new album at Divadlo Archa.

Miska Ramen Pop-Up and Film Screening
May 24-27

Bio Oko Cinema and Miska Ramen pop-up restaurant will be dishing out fragrant food and screening the newly released film Ramen Shop, several times a day up until Sunday, May 27. The Singaporean-Japanese production expresses the magical power of food, love—and noodles with strong broth, meat or tofu, seaweed and a marinated egg.

Prague Fringe Festival 2018
May 25-June 2

This annual English-friendly program brimming with theatre, comedy, and cabaret returns bigger and better than ever in its 17th outing with 240 performances in nine venues across scenic Malá Strana. Catch Henry Naylor’s new show Games, the circus-style comedy Chores, the London Gay Men’s Chorus Ensemble, and comedy sketch act Birds. Prague Food Festival
May 25-27

The Prague Food Festival, now in its 12th year, will take place once again at the UNESCO-heritage Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument where it aims to showcase the best in Czech gastronomy via two delicious days of food-and-drink tastings, demonstrations, entertainment and more.

Dyzajn Market & Praguemarket Spring
May 26-27 

Get a double dose of Czech design markets (in addition to Design Week, see above) with two markets popping up across two days in historic central locations. Both Dyzajn Market (National Theatre Piazzetta) and Praguemarket (Náměstí Republiky) promise a brilliant assortment of locally-made fashion, jewelry, and designs objects, everything from porcelain to cosmetics plus food and drink pop-ups.

Chimney Sweepers At Kampa
May 26

The Kampa Chimneysweeps are commemorating 150 years. In tribute, a festive procession of chimney sweepers accompanied by historic fire trucks and a brass band will make its way from Prague Castle square to Kampa Park.

Khamoro Festival
May 27-June 2

Celebrating its 20th year, the Khamoro Festival presents contemporary and traditional Roma culture during an intensive week full of music, dance, theater and other events. This year a unique Roma fashion show, all-start gypsy jazz concert, and parade and riverside party are just some of the highlights of one of Prague’s most colorful annual festivals.
