The World of Tim Burton, March 28–August 3
Tim Burton is known mainly as the director of blockbusters like Alice in Wonderland or Dark Shadows. From March 28th, you will be able to visit his world at the exhibition of his artwork in Dům U Kamenného zvonu. Rumor has it he will be coming to Prague in person! A few days before that, the Czech National Orchestra will be giving a spectacular concert of his film music (composed by Danny Elfman).

Czech Grand Design, till March 30
Through March in the National Technical Museum, you will see that Czech design is not dead, but rather running rampant. The exhibition is a compilation of works by Czech artists who are nominated for the Czech Grand Design Award, which will be announced on March 9th.

Night of Ad-Gluttons, March 26
A selection of the best advertisements from around the world will be served to you at the traditional five-hour Night of Ad-Gluttons, which will take place in Premiere Cinemas Park Hostivař. This excellent advert fun will cost you 450 CZK.

Shockproof Film Festival, March 4–9
Steel your nerves for war stories, compelling documentaries, sci-fi movies and also for films breaking social taboos. Even the ads at the Shockproof festival are shocking! This event knows no boundaries.

One World, March 3–12
Work. Some try to survive with it, some hate it and some are addicted to it. We handle it all, and so work became the main theme of this edition of the documentary film festival One World. If you aren’t in Prague, don’t worry – the festival also takes place in other 33 Czech towns!

Future Gate, March 13–16
The first year of this new sci-fi film festival takes place in mid-March in the cinema Bio Oko. The festival will feature a total of 7 films from the futuristic genre. A single ticket is 100 CZK, a pass is 400 CZK. The films will be in the original version, with Czech and English subtitles (if needed).

Febiofest, March 2028 
The main section of this year’s program of the International Film Festival Febiofest is “Northern Lights”, which will also include films made in co-production with Czech filmmakers. In addition, the audience can apply for a place in the professional jury that will evaluate the selected films. Entries may be submitted until February 28th.

Fashion

Prague Fashion Night, March 27
This evening will see all the boutiques of Pařížská and the surrounding area open until 20:00, with Czech models welcoming shoppers. Check out new fashion trends, whether you want to spend money on them or not; entry is free.

Dyzajn Márket, March 22 
Spring is coming to Prague, and that means the streets will spring to life as well. One event to please design enthusiasts is Dyzajn Márket – an open-air market of more than two hundred creative designers and fashion enthusiasts. Now taking place at two venues – the Piazzeta of the National Theatre and the Mosaic House, where you can drink up after you get dressed up!

Music

Žižkov Night, March 15
Although some croakers argue that the Žižkov clubs are no longer what they used to be, the organizers of Žižkov Night aim to prove otherwise. During the night of March 15th, they have deployed over 150 bands and DJs to 26 clubs in Prague 3. Orbiting the habitat will be even better with the special festival beer!

San Francisco Symphony, March 24
Although the Prague Spring Festival begins in May, the first vanguard arrives in March, namely the Symphony Orchestra of San Francisco. The program will feature Dvorak, Prokofiev and Berlioz.

NuBerg, March 18
The Prague Berg Orchestra is dedicated to contemporary classical music, and organizes an annual competition for young artists. Winners of Nuberg then have the option of presenting their pieces to the audience. As usual, this concert will be held at an interesting and unusual location, this time at the National Memorial Vítkov.

Tantrum Desire + Disclosure + Bastille, March 7 + 14 + 18
The Electronic Beats Festival is already sold out. However, you will not lose your regular dose of electronic music in March. Prague is getting ready to welcome hot names: drum and bass Tantrum Desireappears on the 7th March in Roxy and house band Disclosurea week later in SaSaZu. If you are not addicted to the beats, enjoy the indie-rock Bastille on March 18th at the same venue.

Theater

Fun Fatale, March 16–April 1
Women are no delicate flowers. The fact that they have power, they can be graceful and at the same time have fun will be proven by the festival of contemporary circus, Fun Fatale. No entry for guys! Well, on the stage. Males are welcome in audience.

Rent – The Musical, March 15–April 20
After the success of last year’s Prague production of the award-winning Broadway musical, Rent returns to the Czech Republic, this time opening at Kalich Theater. It will be performed by Czech actors in English with Czech subtitles. A crazy combination? Wait for the translated version coming this season as well!
