Street Food Festival – May 4, Cross Club The culinary art of the Cross Club kitchen is disputable. Luckily, Cross Club chefs will not be the only ones serving the food at this event – it will be street food at its finest from Kuchařky bez domova (Homeless female cooks) and the Food not Bombs movement.
Restaurant Day – May 17, Multiple Locations Open your own pop-up restaurant or visit one in your neighbourhood. This day of gluttony is celebrated worldwide. You can find your spot right here.
Prague Food Festival – May 23-25, Troja Looking for great quality food in the Czech Republic can be an endless search. Which makes the sheer volume of offerings at the Prague Food Festival overwhelming at first. Taste everything from foie gras to fresh fruit ice cream, or be amazed by culinary shows or a full Havana bar.
Czech Beer Fest + Beer on the Waterfront May is the month of beer in Prague with two events praising this “liquid bread” (as it’s nicknamed in Czech). Drink at Náplavka on May 30th-31st to taste mini Czech breweries or drink your fill at the Czech Beer Festival, beginning May 15th.
MARKETS
Courtyards Flea Market – May 17th, Prague 6 Prague 6’s initiative Živé město (Alive City) is organizing a multi-location flea market hosted by people in their courtyards. Not only will you be able to dig for treasure, but you can also peek into the district’s architecturally pleasing backyards!

Universal Man – May 4, Riegrovy Sady How universal is your body? Test it at a universal run where running is not actually the toughest part. Get ready for push-ups, squats, and sprints!
Vltava Run– May 17-18, Kvilda Don’t feel bad that the Prague International Marathon is already at capacity. You can prove your running skills elsewhere, either on a 350K relay Vltava run or at Úněticebrewery with 6K or 12K long races. (Beer reward guaranteed!)
Prague Stairs – May 20, Hradčanské náměstí See how some of the world’s best bikers bump up and down the old castle stairs from a comfortable standing position.
Red Bull BC One Cypher – May 24, Rock Opera Red Bull BC ONE is the most important breakdance contest worldwide, hosting thousands of performances every year. Cypher is a qualification round and one of them will take place in Prague for the first time in history. Dancers from the Czech or Slovak Republics can officially enter while foreigners can enjoy this dynamic event as spectators.
Manic Street Preachers – May 14, Lucerna They carried on despite the fact that one of their guitarists went missing in ’95 and since then have played as a trio. They will come to Prague after two years. There are still some tickets left!
Prague Spring – May 12-June 3 Well established international festival of classic music Prague Spring kicked off after the Second World War in the atmosphere of recuperated freedom – in 1946. This year’s program is very promising again.
CITY:RESPIRE – May 5, future Petřiny metro station BERG Orchestra is known for its site specific projects. On Monday May 5, as part of the Lunchmeat festival, BERG will set up its ensemble in the future Petřiny metro station. Lunchmeat will provide the video-projection!
CULTURE
Khamoro – May 25-31 See and listen to what the Roma community not only from Prague but from abroad as well has to offer. Concerts, gypsy parades, and delicacies in the centre.
Tanec Praha – May 26-June 26 30 days full of movement! Dancing is language barrier-free and can be very electrifiying. Dancer and dance groups from Austria, France, Switzerland, Poland, Netherlands, Canada, and the Czech Republic will perform at multiple locations around Prague.
Pokoje II – May 2-11, Containall Take a seat down on the river bank in a shadow of Malá Strana, sip a beer or limonáda and appreciate the idea of re-using an old freight container and, for a few days in May, catch the on-site art exhibition Pokoje (Rooms).
Love Day – May 1, Bio OKO, Petřín Spend your May Day outside celebrating love no matter what your relationship status. We recommend the open-air festivities at Bio OKO with screenings, theatre and American, Georgian, or Nepalese cuisine on offer outside the theatre. Or head to Petřín(the Czech poet Mácha’s lovehill) for Australian singer Rowen Slocomba, jumping boots, and magicians.

Future Shorts Prague – May 23, Radlická Radlickáhas already proven to be not only an up-and-coming gym but also a notable new cultural institution. In May, they will host the spring edition of Future Shorts Prague with movies from the UK, Australia, Sweden, Yemen, and Ireland.
